Boar Service Certificates
When a gilt or sow is bred using a boar owned by another breeder, GOSPBU requires proof of service from the boar owner before any resulting litter can be registered.
When a Boar Service Certificate Is Needed
If you use another breeder’s boar to service your gilt or sow, the boar owner must provide confirmation of the breeding. This helps protect the accuracy of registration records and supports responsible breed preservation.
To make the process easier, the boar owner may submit the required information by email to the GOSPBU Registrar. If email is not available, a signed written letter with the same information may be mailed instead.

- The boar must be owned by the person completing the certificate.
- The certificate must identify the boar used for service.
- The breeding exposure start and end dates must be listed.
- All gilts or sows serviced should be clearly named or identified.
- The boar owner’s name and farm name must be included.
Email Submission
The boar owner may copy the template below, complete the required information, and email it directly to the GOSPBU Registrar.
Mail Submission
If the boar owner does not have email access, a written letter containing the same information and signed by the boar owner may be mailed to GOSPBU.
